Third-Party Accessories Not Working On Galaxy Note 3 After KitKat Update – [Fix Available For Root Users]

A few months ago, several reports suggested that the Samsung Company is blocking the functionality of some third-party accessories which are not officially licensed by Samsung. This rule was finally enforced to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 device.

Those who have updated their device to Android 4.4 Kit Kat update on their phablet have found that the third-party accessories are not working.

Several reports from the XDA Developer shows that the accessories like “Spigen’s S-View flip cover” are not working in the Galaxy Note 3 device which is updated with Android 4.4 KitKat firmware. Spigen is also working on new armor cases for the Galaxy Note 3 to fix this issue in future.

For this problem, one solution is available. According to one of the XDA member, the Spigen’s S-view case is working but for this, one must have Samsung’s official S-view cover as well.

You may ask how it is working. “He says tearing off the IC chip from the Samsung’s official case and putting it into the Spigen one, along with a magnet from one of the phone’s earphones make the Spigen case to work.”

This confirms that the Korean manufacturer is using some form of Kit Kat firmware, which makes the third-party accessories are useless until they get the license from the Samsung.

Another method to fix this issue is, you can get root access and install the Xposed Framework mod. This makes the third-party accessories work on the Kit Kat update. But keep in mind that, this Xposed Framework Mod too may have some issues. So, take a backup of your phone before attempting to install this on your phablet.
