How To Update Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM With Official ICS 4.0.4 Firmware

The GSM version of Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone can now be updated with the official ICS android 4.0.4 firmware version.

Please be informed that you need to apply this update, only if your phone is currently running on the ICS 4.0.2 firmware version, otherwise you should not apply this update.

Before you begin:

1.I recommend you to backup all your internal datas present in your phone by using appropriate backup applications. But don’t use KIES to backup your data, as this is a custom ROM firmware it will not support the phone after the update.

2.Along with the SMS, MMS, Contacts, Call logs, Images, Files, Videos you are recommended to note down the APN and MMS Settings by following the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”.

3.So, once you have backed up everything check the battery percentage level of your phone. If it is less than 75% charge them fully, otherwise it will get switched off during the middle of the updating process.

4.Uninstall/Disable all the security firewalls, antivirus tools in your computer so, then it never interrupt the updating process.

5.Finally, enable the USB debugging mode in your Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone. Please make a note that you can enable this option only if you disconnect your phone from the computer. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is ticked on your phone.
