How To Upgrade Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 With CyanogenMod 10.1

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 users who want to upgrade their phone with CyanogenMod 10.1 are advised to check out this tutorial.

Before start to upgrade your phone you should be aware that this is a custom ROM so following this procedure will void your warranty and your device may get damaged; if you do not follow the procedure properly. For that we won’t be held responsible.

You can apply this procedure only in Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105, I9105P smartphone. Don’t try to implement the same in other models or variants. If you do so; it will brick your phone. So, be aware about that.


1.As this is a custom ROM; you need to root your device. So, make sure your device is rooted with the help of “Root Checker” app. Also you need to installed the ClockworkMod Recovery in your phone.

2.Next take a complete backup of your internal data’s which includes SMS, MMS, Call log etc.

3.Next sync your Contact numbers to your G.mail account. So, then it will be safe.

4.Next copy all your songs, images, files, videos etc.. on your internal or external SD card.

5.The APN Settings and MMS settings are also important so, note the pin numbers or software number for that settings somewhere. To note it down; go to “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”.

6.If you have a backup you need not to worry about anything if any thing goes wrong while updating your device.

7.Next enable the USB debugging mode on your Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 smartphone.

8.Next check the battery percentage level and make sure it is not less than 80%. In case, if it is below 80% then let them to charge fully. So, then your device won’t get switched off due to low battery during the middle of the process.

9.Disable all the security and antivirus apps both from your computer and mobile phone.

10.Next download and install the USB drivers for your phone. The Samsung KIES PC suite provides the USB drivers.

Procedure to update the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 With CyanogenMod 10.1:

1.First, download and install the CM10.1 android 4.2.2 ROM and Google apps package from here to your computer.

2.Once you downloaded the above mentioned files connect your phone to the PC with the help of USB cable.

3.Once the computer recognized your phone, copy the downloaded CM 10.1 file and Gapps  package file from computer to your external memory card.

4.Don’t extract them just copy them.

5.After that disconnect your Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 smartphone from the PC and allow it to enter into the recovery mode.

6.To do that; you need to turn off your phone by pressing and holding the Volume Up button+ Power button and Home button simultaneously.

7.Once your device entered into the recovery mode, if you want to backup your current ROM select the “Backup and Restore” option then “Backup” option. You can restore the same at any time by pressing the “Restore” option. The saved ROM is always stored inside the SD card.

8.Next select the “wipe data/factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. After that select the “advanced wipe dalvik cache” partition.

9.Then go back to the main menu and select the “install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card” option. It allows you to browse the file which you have already saved in the SD card. Just pick the CM 10.1 android 4.2.2 ROM from your SD card and allow it to install on your phone.

10.Once it is installed; again do the same for flashing the Gapps package which you have stored in your SD card.

11.Once the installation of both the package was complete, just go back to the main menu and select the “reboot system now” option.

12.The device will take 4-5 minutes for reboot and reach the home screen. So, wait until patiently.

13.That’s it!

Your Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 smartphone will now run the android 4.2.2 Jellybean with cyanogen mod 10.1 ROM successfully.
