Google released the new version of the android operating system and it was named as Kit Kat. It would not be named as Key Lime Pie as it is rumored. Everytime the new version of the android operating system was release, Google usually named the android version by the next letter of the previous version. (Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and now Kit Kat instead of Key Lime Pie). So far, every version of the android operating system was named as dessert confections.
The new release of the android will be Android 4.4 Kitkat not Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie as expected. It was officially announced by the Android Chief Sundar Pichai via Google Plus and Twitter.
Initially, the Nexus 5 was thought to be running on android 4.3 Jellybean but unexpectedly it was revealed for Nexus 7 device. Google plans a big event on the month of October for Apple’s iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S.
Probably the main topic on that event will be Android 4.4 Kitkat release which will be a demonstration by Nexus 5 and Nexus 11 devices.
