Update Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 With CoD ROM

Pre requisites:

1.Once you decide to update your device with any ROM, then the first and foremost thing you have to do is-Backup.  Especially SMS,MMS, Contacts, Videos, Images, Music Files, APN settings etc. Because, the updating procedure will wipe your data completely. So, if you already have a backup of all those data’s you can easily recover them.

2.The next thing you have to do is charging. Yes, charge your device fully or atleast upto 75% so, then your Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 smartphone won’t get switched OFF during the middle of the updating process. If it happens, your device may brick. So, charge your device fullyli.

3.Next enable the USB debugging in your Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 smartphone by following the path “Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging”. Make sure the USB debugging option is ticked.

Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 smartphone with CoD custom ROM:

1.First, download the CoD Custom ROM from here to your computer.

2.So, once you downloaded connect your device to the computer with the help of USB cable. Enable the mass storage device and transfer the downloaded file to the memory card. You should not keep the file in the deep directories since it is difficult to find while updating your device.

3.So, once you have finish with the above procedure, switch OFF your mobile and allow it to enter into the recovery mode.

4.To enter into the recovery mode just hold the Volume Up button, Home Button and Power button simultaneously until the recovery mode appears. (In the recovery mode, the key for selection and navigation will vary. Use Volume Up and Down key for navigation and Home Button for selection).

5.Next backup your ROM by using nandroid backup so that it can be restored in case of failure. To do so, select “backup and restore” option in the recovery menu and then select backup process.

6.After that select “wipe data/factory reset” and “wipe the data” catches from the phone memory.

7.Next select “install zip from SD card” & then “choose zip from SD card”. All the folders and files on the SD card will display; simply select COD custom ROM and click “Yes” button.

8.The installation process will complete after a few minutes. Once the ROM gets flashed, again select ‘wipe data/factory reset’ followed by ‘wipe cache partition’. After that restart your device by pressing ‘reboot system now’ from the Recovery mode itself.

9.Please, make a note that the new ROM will take more time than the usual time to restart. So, wait until patiently.
