Looking For More Features On Motorola Defy? Update With Pikachu ROM

If you are a Motorola Defy user, then you can update your smartphone by using the Pikachu Custom Rom. Although many custom ROM are available for this specific device; this Pikachu ROM comes with large number of goodies. Some of which includes more speed and access, unchain internal system, AROMA Installer mit Touch Support, Google Play Store up-to-date, Google Play Music, Beats Audio Driver, Silent Camera etc.

Please note that, this firmware is not officially released by Motorola; it is just developed and released by the third-party developer. Due to that, it may have some minor bugs but it will be fixed soon. Some of the known bugs are 3D gallery and torch based lock screen.

As always, to update the custom ROM firmware it is necessary to root your smartphone. So, make sure your Motorola Defy is rooted. In case, if you are not sure about that just download the “Root Checker” app from Google Play Store and check it out.

1.It is compulsory to take a backup of your internal data’s which include current ROM, SMS, MMS, Contacts, APN settings, MMS settings etc.

2.You can easily save your contacts by syncing with Google. To backup other things you need to use appropriate backup applications.

3.Once you backup all your data’s you must charge your smartphone fully, so then it won’t get switched OFF due to low battery during the middle of the process.

4.Next it is advisable to uninstall or deactivate all your antivirus applications both in your computer and Motorola Defy smartphone.

5.Make sure you can use the USB cord. Then enable the USB debugging option.

6.Finally ensure your device is rooted.

Procedure to Update Motorola Defy smartphone with Pikachu Custom ROM firmware:

1.Initially you need to download the Pikachu Custom ROM firmware. So, just go here and download the same and save it into your computer(Windows only).

2.After that connect your Motorola Defy with the Windows computer with the help of USB cable and copy the downloaded file into your phone’s SD card. Make sure you are not keeping the downloaded file deep into the subfolders since; it is difficult to find while updating.

3.Once you copied the file into the SD card, just disconnect your device from the computer.

4.After that Turn OFF your Motorola Defy and allow it to enter into the recovery mode menu. To do so, you need to press the Volume Down button simultaneously press the Power button too.

5.Next wipe all your cache partitions by selecting the option “Wipe data factory reset and Wipe cache partition”.

6.After that select the “install zip from SD card” followed by “choose zip from SD card” and select the downloaded file (Pikachu Custom ROM file) which you have already placed in your SD card.

7.Once you select the appropriate file just press “ok”. After that the file start to install in your Motorola Defy smartphone. Wait until the installation process is complete.

8.Once the process is finished, the device will get rebooted automatically. May be it will take some time to reboot so don’t be panic just wait until it gets rebooted.
